Birth of the Snails

I came across hundreds of these unique and gorgeous snails on my daily walk. There is a nature reserve behind my house, it had been raining quite heavily which had brought a multitude of different coloured snails out from their miniature jungle.

I was already a fan of snails as I find their biology and behaviour fascinating.

This encounter was something rather special, I saw tiny baby snails emerging and mighty adult snails. Each had their own unique shell; some yellow, some brown and cream. I wanted to capture this moment so more people can appreciate how complex and beautiful these creatures are.
