When I started drawing this, I was thinking about what makes me feel most at home and with nature in my backyard, although there are many plants and animals living in my backyard there are also the simple thing like mint plants.

I decided to colour but thought that pencils wouldn’t show the earth like feel I was going for, so I look around for a bit and realised that I had all the colour right in-front of me, so I got some mint leaves that had fallen of and some dirt and smeared it around the picture to add a more plant like feel.
