Our New Neighbour

I was sitting at the table watching YouTube late one night and suddenly my budgies started to screech.

I got up to check on them and I turned on the porch lights and a I saw a pair of bright green eyes looking through the window, it’s brown feathers covered in white patches turning its head backwards. It bobbed its head back and forth calling out ‘boobook, boobook, boobook‘ it stood there and looked around and looked at me and my family.

It flew off silently into the night and we couldn’t see it anymore we still hear it’s calls from the trees, we called the owl ‘Barnaby the Moe-poke’.
