The Snail Trails
Andrea Saini
It was a beautiful sunny afternoon, the air felt crisp, probably because it had rained overnight and helped cool everything down a bit. On my way back from a trail walk with my dog, Bolt, I went straight to my backyard to check up on the flowers I had potted a week ago with my dad. I walked around to the pot to check if everything was ok, and checked the soil to see whether the pot needed to be watered, even though it had rained heavily the night before.
While walking around doing my visual examination, I saw the little brown-lipped snail trying to crawl out through the back side of the pot, as if he was on a trail walk on his own. The snail enjoying the freshly potted moist soil, the cool breeze flowing through the flower stems, and finally enjoying the view from the pot after a steep hike to the top (where I took the picture), before potentially heading back down.
